Characterizing Interactions among Members of Deaf Communities in Orkut
This paper presents a characterization of interaction phenomena among members of communities aimed at deaf people in an online social network system, namely Orkut. The results revealed that members of deaf communities are tighter than members of other communities. However, analysis of the interface indicates that it does not always address their specific needs.
متن کاملStructural aspects of interactions within the Myc/Max/Mad network.
Recently determined structures of a number of Myc family proteins have provided significant insights into the molecular nature of complex assembly and DNA binding. These structures illuminate the details of specific interactions that govern the assembly of nucleoprotein complexes and, in doing so, raise more questions regarding Myc biology. In this review, we focus on the lessons provided by th...
متن کاملDynamic network interactions supporting internally-oriented cognition.
Recent advances in systems neuroscience have solidified the view that many cognitive processes are supported by dynamic interactions within and between large-scale brain networks. Here we synthesize this research, highlighting dynamic network interactions supporting a less explored aspect of cognition with important clinical relevance: internally-oriented cognition. We first present a brief ove...
متن کاملIn vivo quantification and perturbation of Myc-Max interactions and the impact on oncogenic potential
The oncogenic bHLH-LZ transcription factor Myc forms binary complexes with its binding partner Max. These and other bHLH-LZ-based protein-protein interactions (PPI) in the Myc-Max network are essential for the physiological and oncogenic activities of Myc. We have generated a genetically determined and highly specific protein-fragment complementation assay based on Renilla luciferase to analyze...
متن کاملImmersive Dynamic Visualization of Interactions in a Social Network
This paper is focused on the visualization of dynamic social networks, i.e. graphs whose edges model social relationships which evolve during time. In order to overcome the problem of discontinuities of the graphical representations computed by discrete methods, the proposed approach is a continuous one which updates the changes as soon as they happen in the visual restitution. The vast majorit...
